Correct and regular maintenance allows any appliance to last longer and be perfectly efficient. This also applies to the iron: in addition, if it works correctly it saves on energy consumption..

It happens to all housewives that the burnt iron bothers us. To make it look like new again, just a few simple tricks and a couple of natural ingredients that we all have at home.
Below we explain how to clean the hob, boiler and exterior surface.
BURNT IRON: THE MAGIC INGREDIENT THAT LEAVES IT LIKE NEW
To remove dirt and limescale and polish burnt iron, the magic ingredient is vinegar.
The metal plate, that is, the part that is in contact with the clothes to be ironed, must be cleaned regularly. A dirty or burned sole can damage clothing.

The plate can be polished easily and quickly using a solution of vinegar and coarse salt. When finished, simply wipe away any remaining salt with a damp cloth.
With this method, the plate will shine like new again.
Griddle: How to clean the boiler and exterior surface
Iron maintenance should not be limited to cleaning the soleplate. You should also carefully clean the outer surface and the boiler.
The exterior of the appliance should be cleaned in the same way as the plate is polished. Prepare a vinegar and water solution and carefully wipe it over the exterior surface. Remove any traces of salt with a damp cloth and dry it with a dry cloth.
For the boiler, the procedure is different. You will have to fill half with water and the other half with vinegar. Turn on the iron and let the steam escape: this will remove the limescale from the boiler.
