Lime is a silent enemy that affects all surfaces in the home, especially the shower. When this happens, scale disfigures the surface and the water supply does not flow properly. For this reason, many people resort to remedies that are especially polluting and rich in chemicals. Among natural remedies, one in particular is capable of revolutionizing the concept of lime by eliminating it immediately.

SHOWER FULL OF LIME, WHAT ARE THE CAUSES?

The seasonal change is never kind, and you notice the amount of lime that has accumulated on the surfaces, from the shower to sink, etc. The house is thoroughly cleaned once every three/four months and the limescale is constantly reformed.

This happens because the appropriate products are not used, favoring those rich in contaminants and very dangerous chemicals that corrode the surfaces without removing traces of lime. It is preferable to adopt an immediate solution that is completely natural and non-corrosive.

But what are the causes of limescale formation in the shower? This material is produced naturally as a result of the erosion of rocks during the passage of water from the mountain to the valley. The hardness of water is made up of the amount of calcium and magnesium salts.

The hotter the water, the greater the crystallization of lime which gives off a clearly visible white patina. The cause of limescale is the hardness of the water, with calcium and magnesium ions already present in it and which solidify when the temperature is very high.

The damage is manifested by incrustations, corrosion of the pipes and completely ruined surfaces.

Lime in the shower: the remedy to eliminate it

As we have mentioned, it would be good not to use any products with added chemicals that can further damage the surfaces. That’s why we turn to natural remedies with citric acid, which can be purchased online or in specialized stores.

It only takes a few grams to remove limescale, combined with organic dishwashing detergent with natural ingredients and distilled water. How to do it?

• Pour 400 grams of distilled water into a container with a spray bottle.
• Add 100 grams of citric acid and 10 grams of organic dishwashing liquid.
• Close the cap and shake well so that all the ingredients are mixed and dissolved. Next, spray the mixture directly on the limescale in the shower and let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing to remove any residue.

This operation can be repeated once a month and, in any case, every time lime is about to form again.
