To perfume your home you can use the trick of lemon seeds in the cup: the aroma will spread throughout the house!
The plants that we decide to insert into our home not only serve a decorative function, but can also contribute to perfume the rooms. If you are a lover of the smell of lemon, this is your article! In fact, we’ll reveal how to use lemon seeds to germinate a highly aromatic and fragrant seedling.

1. Collect the seeds
The first step is to take the seeds of the lemon and collect them in a cup. If you choose to take them directly from lemons you used in the kitchen, you’ll need to rinse them with water and remove the skin covering them before using them. Alternatively, you can buy a packet of already “peeled” seeds at the market.
2. Germinate the seeds
Once you have the seeds, you can proceed in two different ways. The first option is to place them directly in a cup with potting soil, placing them about 3cm deep. This is the simplest process because you won’t have to transplant the seeds once they’ve sprouted.

The second method involves placing a thin layer of damp cotton on the bottom of the cup, then the seeds and another thin layer of cotton on top of the seeds. In this case, the seeds will have better conditions to grow, but you will need to transplant them to another pot when they germinate.
It usually takes 5 to 8 days for the seed to germinate, depending on the method employed. Subsequently, the growth of the seedling will depend on the conditions in which it is found, both humidity and temperature. However, like all citrus fruits, even lemon doesn’t require special attention, but let’s see how to take better care of it.
3. Seedling Care
As for the soil, in the case of lemons it is good that it is well permeable and aerated. In addition, it needs a lot of water, which however must drain properly without stagnating. If you have to change the pot, remember to increase its depth, so that the roots have a chance to develop as well as possible.
A lemon plant is sensitive to cold, while it prefers temperatures ranging from 15 to 25 degrees. Finally, humidity is also an extremely important factor in promoting the growth of your seedlings. In fact, it will be necessary to water the soil slowly, so that it always remains moist.
