The first heats arrive and the days get longer: with spring, our plants give their best, showing themselves in all their beauty.
Among these, there is undoubtedly also the pothos, a plant with unmistakable large green leaves, characterized by resistance and rapid growth.
But why is it that our pothos, even though the warm months are approaching, does not appear as healthy and beautiful as it should?
Let’s find out together what are the best tricks to have it exuberant, to make your neighbors envious!
Warning: if you have any questions or uncertainties, contact your trusted florist or gardener.

Take advantage of the spring light
Spring brings with it a new and brighter light! Take advantage of it!
The pothos should not be placed in direct sunlight, but this does not mean that it does not like bright environments.
Place it not far from the windows or directly on the windowsill, perhaps behind a semi-transparent curtain: spring light accelerates the growth of the potus and makes it thicker and greener .
Water more frequently
As temperatures rise , your pothos will need more water to stay in shape.
Usually, in spring and summer, this plant should be watered about 3 times a week. Of course, to avoid overwatering it, always check the state of the soil.
This this, in fact, seems too dry, it’s time to water.
Also, when watering, avoid wetting the leaves.
Replant
Pothos is one of the fastest-growing plants. That is why, at least once a year, it should be repotted : a larger and more suitable pot is essential to give adequate space to its roots.
The best time to transplant ? Only in late winter and early spring.
When transplanting, be careful not to damage the roots in any way: gently remove the plant from the old pot, giving dry taps on the base so that it slides and then place it in a new pot.
Prune
Normally, pothos should not be pruned. Actually, right at the time of transplanting you can remove the driest branches.
Through this simple operation, you will keep the plant in a more orderly way.
You will also make it produce new, thicker and stronger branches.

fertilizer ? Yes, thanks.
Precisely at this time, fertilization is very important to provide the seedling with the right nutrients to enjoy the warm months to the fullest.
Fertilize about every 20 days, using fertilizers that are high in nitrogen and phosphorus.
Ideally, fertilization should continue until the end of September, and then suspend until spring.
Examine the Sheets
This may seem like odd advice, but examining the leaves of your pothos is essential in spring.
The reason ? In this period, possible parasite attacks or the development of diseases are more frequent .
To prevent them, keep humidity under control: pothos loves humid environments but not too much.
Also, if you notice the presence of unwanted guests on the leaves, check for aphids or mealybugs and intervene quickly to remove them.
Ideally, you should clean the leaves with a mixture of water and white wine vinegar.
