Melt some YEAST to always have beautiful PLANTS!

Whether it’s a garden or a balcony, in summer it’s always nice to see our plants blooming in a thousand colors.

Summer flowering is a natural phase of many plant species that, in the heat, give the best of themselves with their flowers.

However, it happens that the plant lacks essential nutrients, having been under-fertilized, or is momentarily a little weak and flowering is slow to arrive.

In these cases, how can we give our plants a boost of energy and make them bloom?

A quick and easy way to stimulate the flowering of your plants is with yeast. Don’t know it? Let’s find out together.

What You’ll Need

To make your own instant yeast fertilizer, you’ll use a few things you probably already have around the house:

  • brewer’s yeast (also expired)
  • water at room temperature
  • a plastic jug

Preparation

Take half a stick of brewer’s yeast and dissolve it in a liter of water at room temperature.

To dissolve it better, do not throw all the yeast into the water, but crumble it with your hands little by little.

Stir a little, you will notice that the yeast dissolves quite quickly. Once completely melted, let the mixture sit for a few hours.

How to use it

Your instant yeast fertilizer is ready. You can use it as irrigation water for your plants.

Brewer’s yeast, in fact, contains high concentrations of B vitamins that stimulate flowering.

Remember, however, not to overdo it: use it not every day, but every 3 days for about 2 weeks and you will notice an improvement in the flowering of your plants.

Cube Method

If you want an even faster method of fertilizing your plants, you can use the bucket method.

Doing so is very simple! Once the brewer’s yeast is dissolved in the water, we put the mixture in a freezing ice cube moldand then put it in the freezer.

After a few hours, you’ll have a lot of small cubes frozen.

To get the most out of them, whenever the plant needs them, place a frozen cube in the soil. As it melts, the cube will release the yeast that will fertilize the plant.

How to enhance its effect

Yeast will definitely give your plants instant energy, thanks to the vitamins it contains.

However, if you want to have an even more lush and long-lasting bloom, you can combine this method with another natural fertilizer: banana peels.

These, in fact, have a high potassium content which, combined with the B vitamins in yeast, stimulates the flowering of the plant.

After fertilizing the plants with yeast, simply sprinkle a few pieces of banana peel on the ground: over the course of the days, these will decompose, releasing the potassium that will be absorbed by the plant.

Plants, what a passion!

Caring for and growing plants on your balcony or in the garden can be quite exhausting. Fortunately, there are a few ways to have healthygreen plants with minimal effort!
