The jade tree can take many years to bloom, so be patient. Even in its natural habitat, it will have to grow for years before it can flower. When it has reached maturity, the deciding factor in making a jade tree flower will be sunlight. If you keep it indoors, it is difficult for it to bloom because it will not be able to receive the natural sunlight it needs.

Irrigation

If you have your jade tree outside, it should be in a well-lit spot in the garden where it can receive plenty of sunlight. Jade trees are native to South Africa and Mozambique, which means they are accustomed to extreme temperatures and little rainfall. If you live in a cold area, your jade tree will not be able to thrive at all. Although it is very adaptable to different environments and places, it will be healthy and happy, but don’t expect it to flower.

Temperature

There is temperature to be taken into account as a decisive factor. As we’ve already mentioned, jade trees are native to South Africa, which means they thrive in warm climates. Since they bloom in late winter or early spring, you should keep your plant in a 12°C climate during this time.  This will help the sprouts to develop.

Sunlight

Finally, and most importantly, sunlight will make the jade tree bloom! Normally, a jade tree should receive between 4 and 6 hours of sunlight per day. Be sure to place it where it will receive sunlight for most of the day.
