Cleaning the house is a task that requires a lot of time and patience, and we don’t always manage to reconcile everything we have to do between the many commitments we have during the day.
However, there are remedies that can help us save precious time, such as using table salt to make our bathroom toilet shine.
Work, housework, errands, family? So many things to do in one day! Some of these commitments are simply unpostponable, so sometimes we run the risk of neglecting the cleanliness of our home.
Cleaning the bathroom, for example, is one of the most time-consuming tasks, among other things because of the stains and incrustations that can form in the water. There are many products on the market for this purpose, of course, but there are also practical, quick and easy-to-use home remedies that guarantee excellent results. Let’s find out, in this sense, how to use cooking salt to make our toilets clean and shiny.
FLUSH THE TOILET WITH ROCK SALT
When you think about cleaning your house, you naturally turn to the classic detergents you can buy in the supermarket. However, there are many other methods for caring for furniture, surfaces, utensils, and sanitary facilities, such as the use of coarse salt.

In fact, salt is not only useful in the kitchen to season our dishes, but it can also help us to clean the toilet faster, but effective without having to resort to the use of chemicals.
To do this, simply pour about 100 g of coarse salt into the toilet, sprinkle it around the edges and leave it on for at least three hours. Ideally, however, this should be done before bedtime, so that the degreasing action of the salt can continue throughout the night.

Once the waiting time is over, all that remains is to pull the chain and check that, with a minimum effort – and an equally minimal expense – an excellent result can be achieved.
A VIABLE ALTERNATIVE
As we have discovered, coarse salt can become a perfect ally for cleaning our home. But is there an alternative? Of course there is, and it also comes from our kitchen.
In fact, baking soda can be perfect for whitening, sanitizing, and degreasing household surfaces, as well as being a good substitute for coarse salt for toilet cleaning.

The procedure, if you want to use baking soda, remains the same: leave it on for at least three hours and then rinse.
