• Take the cherry rootstock plant   and make a “T” cut in the bark, slightly above the ground, with the sharp knife. Make sure the cut is clean and precise;
• Take the selected twig and cut it to obtain a  dormant gem  with a small portion of wood from the previous year. Make sure the sprout is well developed and free of damage or signs of disease:
• Gently insert the shoot  under the bark of the rootstock, taking care to position it correctly so that it is well attached to the wood. Make sure that the shoot is completely covered by bark;
• Wrap the grafting point  with grafting tape  to protect it and keep it safe. Make sure the ribbon is tightly wound, but not so tight that it compresses the gem;
• After completing the graft, protect the graft area from any damage or disturbance. You can do this by placing a plastic cone or cut plastic bottle on top of the graft;
