Did you know that it is possible  to reproduce roses with a potato ? It may seem strange to you but it is an  effective method recommended by nurserymen themselves.  It is also very simple and you don’t even need to have a so-called “ green thumb”  to be successful.

Are you ready to learn the  method that will allow you to reproduce roses with a potato ? This is what you should do.

Start  by cutting cuttings  about  20cm long.  It is of fundamental importance that they are derived from a mature plant that has already flowered at least once. With a pair of  well-cleaned and disinfected scissors  , make a  clean, oblique cut , then put the  cuttings in a glass of water,  where they will remain until the potatoes needed to multiply them are ready. Take fresh potatoes and possibly without dark spots, then with the help of a  pencil, make a hole in the center  of them. Now  put the cut on the potato with the  help of a piece of  cinnamon.  Pour some  universal soil  into fairly large pots and place the potatoes in the center , leaving the cuttings out of the ground. 

To promote seedling growth and  counteract humidity and heat , cover it with a  plastic bag,  but remember  to remove it at least once a day  so that the cuttings can get air. You will see that  in a couple of weeks the roots will begin to sprout.  The potato provides all the nutrition that seedlings need to develop and grow healthy.

The time has come to take care of the seedlings the right way. The  temperature  should  never drop below 20°  but  avoid direct sun.  Make sure the  earth is always moist  but, to eliminate stagnant water, which would be harmful,  empty the saucers every day.  When the plant has developed,  transplant it into the garden  or into a  pot of the right size.
