Potted plants in the garden need water.  When summer comes and the rains stop, you must never forget about them, otherwise they will die. If you grow vegetables, water is essential for the growth of the plant, but also for the production of tasty fruits.

Precisely for this reason we want  to show you the farmer’s method that will allow you to water the vegetable plants in your garden effortlessly and for free for about a month. You don’t have to go every day to water them, but go every now and then to check that everything is working properly.

Below, in the next paragraph, we will show you everything in detail how to implement this method.  You don’t need to buy anything  because we will use a very common object in the house. Here you will find all the details you need to know.

How to water plants for a month

As mentioned, this method can be useful if you are away from home for a few days.  You will need a large plastic bottle  . The larger the bottle, the more days you will not have to water your plants. Now, with a felt-tip pen, make a mark about 15 cm from the bottom and 10 cm from the neck.

Connect and an internal line will be created that will serve as a guide for where to place the bottle on the plant. Slightly below the line, about 3 inches from the bottom, make a small dot that you will need to pierce. You can do this with an awl or a heated yarn iron.

The hole should be small and not too big  . Now fill the bottle with water. Not all of it, but up to the beginning of the previously drawn line. Now close the bottle well with the cap. It’s time to place the bottle near the plant.

Place the bottle in the ground

You can also use this method in the garden, and you will have to get close to the plant and slightly dig up some soil to place the bottle.  The bottle must be buried up to the starting point of the line previously made  . Remember to put the side of the bottle with the hole towards the plant.

Now cover with soil again. Then open the cap and fill the bottle completely. Now close the cap again. As soon as the bottle is closed, the water level no longer drops and  only comes out when the plant wants it or when the soil is dry  . It is added drop by drop.

This way you can be sure that your plants will always be watered  and you won’t have to remember to water the plants every day. This method is especially suitable for  vegetables that are planted in the garden  . But there are also other methods for potted plants such as the bottle and string method.
