Limescale on the shower glass: here’s how to remove it effortlessly!

The shower cabin is a convenience. Especially because it allows you to take a bath without dirtying the rest of the room. But in the long run the box itself needs a good cleaning, especially to free the glasses from the omnipresent limescale.

Below we suggest some homemade and DIY ways in which you can clean and keep the “walls” of the shower cabin clean.

However, it is clear that before trying one of these remedies,  it will be good to read the manufacturer’s instructions  .

Lime on the shower glass: effective remedies

With white wine vinegar

It can be used for any type of shower enclosure, but particularly those with glass or crystal walls. Simply mix two parts white vinegar and one part hot water, let it sit for five minutes, and then apply it to the glass by rubbing it with a sponge.

Then rinse and dry with a classic microfiber cloth.

with baking soda

The baking soda is mixed with water to form a kind of “paste” that is then passed over the glass. The product should be wiped with a sponge, being careful not to press too hard, as baking soda is slightly abrasive.

Rinse with warm water.

With denatured alcohol

It is very effective against halos formed by steam. Simply pass it over the surface with the help of a sponge. It works well on both glass and plastic and crystal.

Once the alcohol is applied, rinse with warm water and then dry with a microfiber cloth.

with lemon juice

Lemon juice is indicated against traces of mold, which always lurk in a humid environment. Mold often forms in corners, so cleaning can be helped with stiff brushes or even a toothbrush.

The recipe is simple. Take a lemon, cut it in half and squeeze the juice, which is then diluted with hot water. Before rinsing you have to wait at least a quarter of an hour: this is the time it takes for the lemon juice to eliminate the mold.

Alternatively, again against mold, you can also try a mixture of lemon juice and vinegar.

With Marseille soap

It can be used in both liquid and flake form. However, it must be diluted in hot water. It is applied with a sponge and then rinsed. Dry with a microfiber cloth, being careful not to leave streaks.
