Even in winter it can give wonderful flowering, just follow a few steps.
The orchid is a very delicate plant, which generally blooms only in the spring and summer months.
However, its vegetative cycle can be altered and it can flower even in winter .
This is what you should do.
- Keep it warm , preferably at a temperature of 21-22°. Also pay attention to sunlight , it should always be present but should not be directed on the orchid.
- Use a fertilizer, normally it should not be fertilized in the winter months, but to increase flowering use a specific fertilizer based on phosphorus, potassium and nitrogen.
- Irrigation, always avoid overdoing it so as not to rot the soil. The best method is immersion : place the seedling in a container filled with water for 20 minutes and then remove it.
- Keep the environment humid , around 60%. The orchid has tropical origins and is therefore accustomed to humidity rates. The ideal is to store it in the bathroom .
