Is it possible to grow an orchid without roots? Here is the method you must follow to revive it and make it bloom again. You must not throw it away under any circumstances.

The orchid is a plant that does not require much care and for which it is often found in homes as an ornamental plant.  However, some care is certainly necessary, otherwise our orchid will die and it will not be easy to get it back. Commit to following the little secrets you need to have a healthy and thriving orchid.

First of all, the location, temperature and exposure to sunlight are very important.  It is therefore advisable to place the orchid in a place in the house where there are no drafts and no radiators. Then we recommend a temperature around 20°C and finally not direct sunlight.

Then watering is also very important, the plant must always be moist, not dry and not full of water. If these small steps are not followed, the plant can have consequences, flowers that fall, leaves that turn yellow and rotten roots that must be cut irreparably  . We will look at the latter case, that is, growing an orchid without roots  .

Here’s what you need to do if you have a rootless orchid

If you have an orchid with rotten roots, it is better to cut them off than to leave them there.  To do this, you must first remove the orchid from the pot and cut off all the rotten roots with scissors  . In case you need to remove them all, do not worry and do it. There is actually a way to regrow completely healthy roots and now we will see it.

Once you have completely cut off your roots, remove all the branches as well and cut the base where the roots are well attached  . At this point you can pour turmeric or cinnamon over it to disinfect the area and prevent mold from forming.

You will go further to carry out the procedure than what is usually done.  Usually the roots are poured in water, but this time we will pour the leaves in water  . Just take a glass that is absolutely transparent because it must let light through and put the leaves in it with about 4 or 5 cm of water. To avoid dropping the root, just help yourself with a toothpick.

At this point, all you have to do is wait.  In the first 15 days, you will see very small bumps, which means that the method is working  . Within 3 to 4 months, you will begin to see roots of a few centimeters. Always remember to add water when it ends in the glass.

When the roots reach about 15 cm long, it is time to repot your orchid  . This orchid will have a hard time clinging to the ground, so we will use more products to plant it: clay pellets, pine bark and moss to speed up root formation.

We always take a plastic cup and cut the bottom as if it were a vase.  We add clay balls to the bottom that help drainage and then we add pine and moss  . At this point, spray the moss liberally with a spray and add the orchid. Finally, add more pine bark. This is where your orchid will be reborn.
