Many healthy and tasty recipes include the use of lemons, even in the case of cold remedies to strengthen the immune system.
Flu symptoms can also improve with the use of some natural remedies, let’s see a recipe with lemons and ginger.
Lemons, why boil them
Lemons can help with the flu, a respiratory infection caused by a virus that spreads easily and affects different areas of the body, such as the nose, lungs, and throat.
Although it can be confused with a cold due to some of its symptoms, in the case of the flu they appear much faster (between 2 and 3 days after infection).
Furthermore, this infection can be identified by its own signs, such as high fever, dry cough, body aches, and even nausea and vomiting.
Lemon and ginger for colds
The following recipe is healthy and tasty, and involves the use of lemon and ginger. It is also very good for its immune properties against colds . Let’s see what is needed and how to proceed.

For this recipe we need to get:
- 2 lemons (preferably organic,
- a jar of honey according to our personal taste,
- a ginger root.

For this recipe, organic lemons should be used , but alternatively we can use regular lemons, taking care to clean their peel well, first rubbing them with fine salt after placing them in a container with warm water.
Fine salt, with its abrasive action, eliminates all traces of impurities that have nested in the bark. This should be done for both lemons, then rinsed under running water and then rubbed with a handful of baking soda.
Finally, add more baking soda to the bowl and let the lemons soak for 15 minutes , then discard the water and start preparing the recipe.
Preparation
Pour warm water into a saucepan and add the jar which will need to be boiled to sterilize it as when canning.
Meanwhile , clean the ginger root , removing the outer skin. Ginger can also be omitted from the recipe, however, thanks to ginger it makes the preparation tastier.
Then you cut a good piece of ginger into thin slices. Once the lemons have been rinsed, they are dried with a cloth and the tips, the two ends of the lemon, are cut off.
If the citrus fruit is damaged anywhere, the parts must be removed and then you begin to cut the lemon into thin rings on a cutting board, depriving it of the seeds.
Once the jar is ready, let it dry on a cloth and begin to fill it with lemon slices and ginger slices, adding honey to each layer.
Once the entire jar is full, clean it well, close it and turn it upside down , leave it at room temperature for a couple of days, after which the jar is stored in the refrigerator.

The bottle can remain like this for at least two weeks to be used whenever desired, to make tea or herbal tea, using lemon and ginger and a little honey.
