The Anthurium is one of the plants most loved by women, it is a beautiful, super colorful traditional flower that for all this cannot be missing in any home, also because it is given as a good omen.

Taking care of this plant is really simple,  in fact it can be an idea to give it to those who do not have a green thumb or too much time to dedicate to flowers and plants.

For the seedling to live well and survive over the months or years, it is enough to place it only in a illuminated place, avoiding exposing it directly to sunlight, with a temperature between 20 and 22 degrees. The minimum temperature beyond which it should never go is 16 degrees.

The anthurium  should be kept away from drafts  and should not be placed near the radiator because this way it could also dry out.

How to care for anthurium quickly and easily

To take good care of the anthurium, you must give it water when necessary, without overdoing it. So in winter it is enough to water the plant once a week, while in summer twice a week without exaggerating with the amount, always checking that this is the case.

You don’t need to give it a lot of water, just spray the plant to refresh it and that’s it. Homegrown anthurium should have permeable soil, allowing the roots to  always remain moist and take in air while enjoying adequate drainage.

Then obviously nutrients are important, which should never be lacking in this as in any other plant. So it is advisable to buy a special soil for Anthuriums to add to the normal soil or alternatively orchid soil can also be fine.

When is it time to water the plant and when is it better to avoid

At the beginning of spring you can do a transplant that stimulates the production of new buds. This method allows you to give life to many new seedlings, if you also want to give them as a gift. If the leaves suddenly change color,  for example appearing darkened  , it could be because the plant is receiving too little or too much water.

That is why it is advisable to touch the soil substrate before watering and add water only if it is dry. If, on the other hand, it is humid, it is advisable to wait. If the leaves turn yellow instead, it may mean that the plant probably has too much light,  so it is better to move it to a further away position  to protect it.

Yellowing flowers and leaves: the solution

Yellowed leaves or wilted flowers should be removed to encourage the formation of new flowers. In this way the seedling becomes leafy without having to do anything else. When the plant is already full of dry leaves, it is time to act directly on it to bring it back to life.

Probably, upon seeing the seedling in this condition, anyone would think of throwing it away with the entire vase. In reality, we should know that it is not finished yet,  because something must be done to remedy it.  At this point the anthurium is removed   from the soil, then the dried flowers and leaves are removed, keeping only the roots and twigs that are obviously not broken.

Then you take a clean vase, fill it with water, cut the garlic inside, which is miraculous in these cases as in many others. As absurd as it may seem, anyone with a green finger knows it, it is the fertilizer par excellence that also keeps parasites away.  Two or three cloves cut in water and left to macerate for a few minutes are enough.

Once finished, the anthurium root is soaked and left in the water for a few hours. Then the root is put back in the pot with the soil, it must be buried well, watered with the garlic water. The garlic must be put in the ground. Once done, you will only need to wait a month to see the first results.

In the end, the results will be exceptional, because  the anthurium will not only return its spectacular leaves and flowers,  but when you pull the root out of the ground, you will realize that many other roots will have been born to plant in other pots to give life to many small  anthuriums ready to brighten your home or garden.
