Exposure : When orchids are exposed directly to the sun, their leaves end up burning. When growing them indoors, be sure to filter sunlight with light shades to protect them.  Also remember to keep them away from any heat source, radiator in particular, at the risk of seeing them die .

Irrigation : during winter, it is necessary to space watering. In fact, the orchid’s water needs differ during this time of year. Do not hesitate to  water your plant  twice a month, using recycled rainwater, which does not contain lime and is, at the same time, at room temperature . Water that is too hot or even too cold could cause water shock, which could create stress for the plant. By the way, you can also, from time to time, mist the orchid.

Fertilizer and transplant : The latter is recommended during spring, because it is at this time of year that orchids bloom. Therefore, they no longer have new buds. However,  you should repot an orchid only if many roots overflow from the pot, or if the substrate is thin . Also be sure to get rid of any faded flowers to encourage new shoots to form.

During the fall, the new stems will need a daily spray application of fertilizer to the leaves and roots.  In winter, apply fertilizer once a month to orchids and wipe the leaves with a damp sponge to remove dust .
