As we just said, fertilizer for plants is very important and now we are going to see how to make one specific for orchids with potato peel  . Potatoes are useful for the development of the orchid since they contain potassium, calcium and some vitamins such as B and C.

In addition,  potato peel has the characteristic of being an antioxidant and therefore helps the orchid leaves to be alive and hard as well as protecting them from certain diseases such as fungi.  But let’s now see in detail how to proceed with the preparation of this potato peel fertilizer.

First you will have to wash and peel 2 medium or large potatoes and then put them in a blender with about 400 ml of water. Run the blender and reduce to a slightly thick mixture. At this point you will have to separate the mashed potato skin from the liquid with the help of a strainer.

The puree that we have separated can be used by adding water after letting it sit overnight for all the plants in the house except for orchids.  For orchids, take the water obtained from the potato peel and put it in a clean spray bottle. Now you will have to add the water  . The proportion is 1:2, for example if the potato liquid is 20ml, pour 40ml of water.

So now the potato peel water for your orchids is ready and you will have to use it immediately and do not wait too long as this liquid could become acidic in a few hours. You can then  go and spray the particular solution on the leaves of your orchid.

To avoid accumulations of water or solution, you can insert paper between the different sheets to prevent the formation of fungus.  Let the sprayed orchid sit overnight and the next morning clean the leaves well with a napkin and water  . Repeat this once a month.
