Insects such as scale insects, aphids, mosquitoes, ants and snails can infest our plants, compromising their health and beauty. These parasites feed on the sap of plants and can cause their death if appropriate measures are not taken. To prevent and treat these problems, there are many products on the market. However, it is always better to opt for natural products, which are cheaper and less harmful to the environment. Among the most effective natural remedies to protect plants from parasites are, for example, Marseille soap, white vinegar, neem oil, tobacco and diatomaceous earth.

Natural remedies against plant pests

Choosing a natural remedy is always the best choice, since it is not only environmentally friendly, but also because it does not pose any risk of poisoning for plants, pets, birds and pollinating insects. So how can we protect our plants from pest attacks? The answer is simple: garlic. Garlic is not only a versatile ingredient in the kitchen, but it can also be used as an ally in the garden thanks to its strong odor that repels pests and its antibacterial properties that strengthen the stems and leaves. To prepare the remedy, it is enough to take a bulb of garlic, chop it finely and boil it for a long time with a little water in a saucepan.

Once the mixture has reached the boiling point, it is allowed to cool and poured into a spray bottle, adding a liter of warm water. The solution should be allowed to sit for a few hours so that the water absorbs all the properties of garlic, after which it can be sprayed on the leaves, especially where there are parasites, once every three days. In a few days the parasites should disappear and our plants will be protected and strengthened. To make the anti-parasite solution even more effective, you can also add a handful of chilies and a little onion while boiling the garlic.
