Around May/June we start with sowing tomatoes  . There are many varieties to choose from. There are round grape tomatoes or datterini tomatoes. In fact, this tip is intended for tomato plants that grow vertically near the canes that you place in the ground  . There is a very specific reason and it concerns the girl. The latter is nothing more than that shoot that is usually removed when pruning and pruning to grow other tomatoes.

This means nothing other than that the plant will develop and bear fruit until the first cold weather arrives. Tomatoes: use this tip to increase your yield

This tip for speeding up plant growth does not involve putting fertilizer in the plants.  The plant itself and its branches are exploited  . Let’s focus in particular on the female, that is to say the part of the plant that we have already mentioned previously.

As we said, this tip can only be used on tall, indeterminate growing tomato plants (we remind you). In practice, instead of removing the  females  and therefore reducing the yield,  we ensure that they grow and transform into a complete new stem of leaves, flowers and fruits  .

These axillary shoots therefore transform into a new stem if they are not cut.  Therefore, the harvest will be larger, but as there is a new stem, the plant will need more nutrients  . Even if the plant has more fruit, it will not grow much but will remain smaller. In any case, it is not recommended to leave all the females on the plant.

Only some can remain but the others will still have to be removed. A plant overgrown with leaves will perform better because there will also be less air circulation.  Additionally, the plant becomes unstable if there are too many females  . We must therefore not exaggerate in preserving these shoots, in short we can say keep them just enough so as not to damage the plant.

Fertilizer for tomato plants

If you also want to use fertilizers for your tomato plants, we recommend some natural ones  that you can prepare and use. Here they are:

• Manure  : this is the best organic fertilizer to use in the cultivation of this plant. However, it must come from non-industrial operations.
• Ash  : wood ash contains many minerals useful to the plant.
• Liquid solution  : pour a glass of cold, unsweetened coffee into a bottle of lukewarm water. You can use this solution simply as is or enrich it with vegetable cooking water.

These are just a few examples, but  the best fertilizers  for tomatoes are those rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium  .
