In winter, when it is cold, we ventilate less and less and only rarely open doors and windows. A closed, moist airspace begins to shape much earlier. There is no need to panic if the problem has already appeared, you can easily get rid of mold with the help of the following method.

Due to the temperature difference, mold often forms in apartments with inadequate ventilation and damp, moldy air. If you enter a moldy apartment, the characteristic “smell” already indicates that something is wrong. Be very careful if there is a musty, musty or damp air smell in your apartment, move the furniture away, look at the corners, because this is where mold appears most quickly.

With the advent of thermopane windows, ventilation in apartments is much worse. If possible, don’t replace all your shutters with thermopane or, if you do, ventilate them regularly. The temperature in the apartment should always be 20-21 degrees, otherwise condensation will form on the walls. Heaters are placed under the window. If we have the chance, let’s properly insulate our home before winter arrives. In private houses, the walls cool down much faster, since there are no lower or upper neighbors to provide heat.

Ventilate twice a day for ten minutes. This way the air circulates much better than leaving the window closed for several hours. The stove should be as close to the window as possible so that steam can escape properly during cooking.

The bathroom also starts to get moldy very quickly if it is not properly ventilated. Always open the door or window for at least 5-10 minutes after showering or bathing.

If we have followed the instructions above and mold still appears in our apartment,  try the following method:

Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda in 100 ml of vinegar, then pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Spray the problem area, but only enough so that the wall is not completely wet. Let the vinegar mixture do its work, then wipe the surface with a sponge and after 1-2 days you will see that the mold has completely disappeared.
