Fresh fruit all year round, you will no longer have to throw anything away: the ancient Chinese remedy

Do you want to have access to fresh fruit all year round? Do you have plenty of fruit and would like to keep it for a long time? Don’t worry, here’s an ancient Chinese remedy that will allow you to keep fruit fresh all year round!

Having fresh fruit available for an extended period is a significant advantage for consuming healthy foods and saving money. Usually, we use the refrigerator to store food and keep it fresh for longer, but even in this case, fruit has a limited shelf life and space is limited.

So how can we solve this problem? Thanks to the Chinese method, you can preserve fruit for a long period and always enjoy it fresh, without the use of preservatives which could be harmful to your health. This is a simple process to follow, and below we will explain everything you need to do it.

Start by washing the fruit thoroughly. The key to getting great results with the Chinese method is to use fresh fruit in good condition. Make sure the fruit is healthy and not rotten, otherwise you will not get the desired results.

To do this, you can put the fruit in a saucepan and rinse it thoroughly under running water. Repeat the process several times to remove any residue and let the fruit drain carefully.

Before starting the canning process, make sure you have a sufficient amount of fruit available and obtain the 1.5 liter glass jars needed to preserve it. You can choose to mix different types of fruit in one jar, but it is advisable to keep the same type of fruit in each jar.

Here’s how to proceed with the Chinese method for preserving fruit:

  1. Bring the water to the boil in the amount needed to fill the jars.
  2. Remove the leaves and stalks (stalks) from the fruit and wash it thoroughly.
  3. Place the fruit in the jars and fill them to the brim.
  4. Pour the boiling water over the fruit, without filling the jar completely.
  5. Cover the jars with the lids without screwing them on and leave for 10 minutes.

After this period, remove the lids and replace them with plastic caps with holes. Pour the water from the pan and bring it back to the boil.

While the water is boiling again, add 2 heaped tablespoons of sugar to each glass jar filled with fruit. When the water starts to boil, pour it over the fruit again, being careful not to let it overflow.

Return the lids to the jars and screw them on tightly using a sealing tool. Then cover the jars with two towels, one to place underneath them and the other to cover them.

Let the jars cool at room temperature for 24 hours. Once this procedure is completed, the jars will be ready to be stored for a long time.

Store the jars in a dry place away from light, with a temperature that does not exceed 18°C. The fruit will keep perfect for a period of twelve months, allowing you to enjoy fresh fruit all year round without having to buy it. Remember that once you open the jar, you will need to consume the fruit within a few days!
