Roses, how to reproduce them infinitely with a single twig

How to reproduce infinitely with a single sprig of roses? The garden will be a spectacle. Here are the good tips from nurseries and gardeners.

The rose is a fascinating flower: it belongs to the “Rosaceae” family, widespread in Asia and Europe, and which is composed of about two thousand species of plants. The “baccarà” variety is the rarest and most sought-after variety that has a dark red color and some shades of black.

Rose petals are used in many cosmetic products and in many antidepressant and anti-inflammatory phytotherapeutic preparations. The queen of flowers, the rose, has a pungent smell and has different colors, ranging from white to yellow, red to pink. How to make the rose grow? How to reproduce the rose infinitely with a single branch? Let’s find out in this guide.

Roses: what are the types of reproduction?

The types of rose reproduction are these two:

  • agamic reproduction, i.e., vegetative reproduction. The mother plant gives rise to other plants with exactly the same genetic characteristics. Thanks to this type of reproduction, it is possible to reproduce a large number of plants indefinitely.
  • Another type of reproduction is gamic : the female part of the flower is fertilized by the pollen produced by the stamens. Such reproduction is a guarantee of excellent hardiness of the floral variety.

Roses: how to multiply the flower of a twig?

The best month to start producing roses is September: it is necessary to cut the branches, which should be about ten/12 centimeters long. The twigs of the rose plant should be cut below the bud and obliquely.

Afterwards, it is necessary to cut the leaves: the twig of the leaves must be cleaned and only two groups of leaves must be left. Twigs should be buried: expert nurserymen and gardeners recommend using pots with a diameter of about ten centimeters. Only use soil made from sand or other draining material.

The best place to grow roses should be sunny, as the sun’s rays favor development and flowering, but it should be aerated.

Roses – the meaning of colors

The color red is a very strong symbol of attraction, eternal love, and passion. The lilac rose reveals the first emotion of love, the orange conveys enthusiasm and energy, the yellow expresses jealousy and infidelity, the white rose is a symbol of chastity and purity. The white rose dyed green is the emblem of fertility and abundance. Pink is a symbol of refinement and elegance, blue is the emblem of the mysterious, and dark red (with a tendency to black) conveys a sense of death.
