Lemon is a very common and appreciated citrus fruit, so it is not uncommon to find trees planted in gardens or on terraces.
Like any plant, it needs specific care, so that it can grow healthy and exuberant and thus enjoy its fruits fragrant.
So let’s see some tips to put it into practice to grow it to the maximum.
- Buy: First make sure you have a quality plant. You can contact a trusted nurseryman or grow it directly from the seeds of a lemon.
- Pot: if grown in pots, the size should be the most appropriate. The ideal is at least 35 cm in diameter.
- Soil: make sure you have a suitable top layer of soil. A mixture of compost and coconut fiber is recommended.

- Insects: even lemon, like several plants, can be attacked by insects and pests. To protect it, use natural pesticides, such as Neem oil.
- PH: the ideal soil pH level ranges between 6 and 6.5
- Pollination: Make sure it happens correctly as it is crucial for the growth of flowers and fruits.
- Pruning: at each change of season the lemon plant can be pruned so that it can develop new branches.
