What happens when you pour dish soap down the toilet? The trick that will save you a lot of money

Your toilet probably doesn’t require much maintenance, other than regular cleaning as long as it isn’t clogged. In reality, the big annoyance comes when you try to wash them and the water doesn’t flow well. It is therefore very likely that your toilet is clogged with limescale deposits and dirt residues. Fortunately, to solve this annoying problem, there are some very effective tricks to use. You probably won’t need to hire a plumber, so you can save some money.

Unclogging the  toilet  is certainly not the most pleasant task in the world. Except that it is inconceivable to stand by and ignore the situation. This is a particularly disturbing and uncomfortable problem for the whole family. But, rest assured, it is possible to remedy this without the help of a specialist. With the precious trick of simple and economical dish detergent, you will be able to unclog your toilet quickly and without too much effort.

What happens if you pour dish soap down the toilet?

To unclog the toilet you have the ideal ingredient in your kitchen: dish detergent. Since its consistency is slippery, it will help you lubricate the clogged pipe and therefore allow the dirt residues embedded inside to come off more easily.

How to proceed ? Pour about half a cup of dish soap into the toilet bowl and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then pour 1 liter of hot water and wait another 25 minutes. You will notice that in the meantime the soapy water will begin to gradually go down. Empty the toilet tank so that all the dish soap solution goes down the drain.

Good to know  : If you run out of  dish soap , simply cut a standard bar of soap into small pieces and put them in the toilet. a>

If your toilet is not unlocked from the first application, it means the lock is strong. In this case, repeat the process many times until completely erased.

Another cheap trick that will save you the plumber’s money

Another equally practical solution highlights the powerful action of baking soda and apple cider vinegar. They are two natural and versatile products, perfectly suitable for disinfecting, decalcifying and deodorizing toilets.

Instructions  : pour half a sachet of bicarbonate of soda and a glass of vinegar into the bowl. After the reaction of the mixture is completed, pour in as much hot water as possible. This method works for even the most stubborn blockages, saving you the expense of purchasing a pump or other expensive cleaning chemicals.

NB  : You can also use salt to keep your bathroom clean. Pour about 100 g of coarse salt and sprinkle the edges. Leave for about three hours, then flush the toilet as normal. They will be shiny, all clean and without any bad smell!

Other effective solutions for unclogging the toilet

– Create a drainage snake using a wire hanger

A more severe blockage may require more laborious manual work, but without using the suction cup. You should create a homemade drain snake by unrolling a wire coat hanger until it is straight. Push one end of the wire into the clogged area to loosen scale deposits and debris until they flow into the drain.

– Bleach, vinegar or club soda

Because it can break down waste quickly, bleach is a great solution. Simply pour 2-3 cups of product into the toilet bowl, wait 10-15 minutes and flush. You’ll find that this approach works best for really clogged toilets. For its part, white vinegar also has its say: it can both unclog and clean rooms. In a saucepan, heat 1/2 liter of vinegar with 1 liter of water. Then pour everything into the bowl and leave for 20 minutes. While washing, you will notice the release. Finally, the soda trick is certainly more unlikely, but it has proven itself. Thanks to its acids (carbonic and phosphoric), a simple can of Coca-Cola can also make clearing the toilet easier.

– Blotting paper

This advice is also recommended by plumbers themselves. Lift the toilet seat and literally wrap it with aluminum foil  , cling film or any other absorbent material. Make sure you stretch it well so there is no air underneath. Then rinse. It is a principle similar to that of the bell. Flushing creates a vacuum that helps move the waste barrier, which can help release it more quickly.
