Lilac syrup
We need:
20 lilac sprigs (it’s best if the flowers are not fully bloomed, then the syrup is most suitable)
1 liter of water
750 g -1 kg sugar (you can also use cane syrup)
30 g citric acid
1 lemon, thoroughly washed and sliced
Preparation:
We only need the flowers – we just have to remove them from the branches – it’s laborious, but worth it.
Put the water with the sugar on the fire – let it boil and cook over low heat for about 5 minutes.
Then add citric acid and chopped lemon.
Prepare a 3-liter container, put the flowers in it and pour the sugar syrup over them.
Let it stand for 3 days in a cool room, then strain and pour into clean containers.
We keep it cool.
Diluted with carbonated water, it brings a taste of spring on hot summer days.
We wish you a good appetite!
