How to have an Anthurium plant that is always beautiful, healthy and exuberant? Simple, by treating it with aspirin. Here’s how.

Very often, no matter how much love you put into plants, it’s hard to get them as lush as we’d like. Specifically, we bought the Anthurium, or Anthurium, wonderful but keeping it that way can be tricky. But with the aspirin trick we can finally have leafy and healthy plants. Let’s see how to use it.

Anthurium, one of the most picturesque houseplants

Anthurium is a plant of tropical origin accustomed to very humid and warm climates. Precisely for this reason it is a plant suitable for growing indoors rather than outdoors.
It is a plant that develops vertically with bright green leaves and leaf-like flowers that vary from white to red with various shades.

Due to its origin, it prefers demineralized water, which can be used to moisten the plant and recreate the humidity characteristic of its areas of origin. In summer it requires a lot of water, the soil present in the pot should never be dry. For this reason, expanded clay is usually used in the dish and mixed with the soil, to promote drainage and prevent the roots from coming into contact with water that could stagnate in the dish. As an alternative to demineralized water, rainwater is perfect for both watering and spraying.

It is also very important to remember to dust the leaves so that the plant breathes as well as possible. However, despite the best precautions, it may happen that our Anthurium plant is not as healthy and lush as we would like.

So, how do you do it? There are many fertilizers on the market, certainly effective, but if we want a home and effective remedy we can rely on a simple aspirin, the same one we use for the flu. Here’s how.

Using Aspirin for a Healthy and Lush Anthurium

Aspirin is not only good for us humans, but also and above all for plants. The acetylsalicylic acid content of which aspirin is composed is a panacea for plants, as it slows down the action that causes wilting. Treating plants and especially Anthurium with aspirin is very simple.

First of all, in the case of particularly poorly placed or discarded plants, it is possible to spread the crumbled aspirin tablets in large pieces directly on the moistened soil. Instead, the remedy that should be used every day involves the use of water and aspirin and is actually very simple to do.

You will need 250 mg of aspirin to grind it into a fine powder. Now take a container into which to pour 5 liters of water, possibly rainwater or demineralized, and add the powdered aspirin, stirring until it is completely absorbed. Once well mixed, let it rest overnight and, the next day, transfer everything to a spray bottle.

Now you have your remedy to keep your plants and Anthurium in tip-top shape at all times. Simply spray the mixture every day on both the leaves and soil to ensure healthy growth for all your plants.
