The bathroom is one of the most important rooms in the house and among those that should be kept constantly clean, for health and hygiene reasons. A clean bathroom is not only pleasant, but also safe and hygienic.
However, precisely because of the constant humidity and frequent use of water, the bathroom is more prone to getting dirty and accumulating limescale and mold, which in turn cause bad odors and stains that are difficult to remove.
Here are 7 simple hotel tricks to keep your bathroom clean and shiny without having to do a deep cleaning every time.
1. Clean the shower frequently
It may seem like an obvious tip, but applying a cleaning product frequently allows us to keep the shower clean, without limescale accumulation and without dirt, thus avoiding having to do deep cleaning.
To keep your shower clean, prepare a cleaner by mixing equal parts water and vinegar. Spray the solution onto the inside surfaces of the shower, then rinse with warm water. Remember that good ventilation in the bathroom is crucial to prevent mold buildup, especially in the shower.
2. Cleaning the bathtub
The same applies to the bathtub as to the shower: by applying a cleaning product frequently, we avoid having to do deep and heavy cleaning, in which we will probably have to deal with difficult stains.
Mix 4 liters of warm water with a glass of alcohol, half a glass of vinegar and a tablespoon of baking soda. Pour everything into the bathtub and leave it on for 10 minutes, then rinse.
3. Cleaning of windows and mirrors
Residues accumulate on them and annoying halos form. The solution is to clean them superficially every day with baking soda or alcohol.
Use a microfiber cloth, apply a little alcohol and wipe it over the glass.
4. Toilet cleaning
Certainly one of the places in the bathroom most prone to the accumulation of mold, limescale and bacteria. Cleaning it frequently is a matter of hygiene and to do so it is not necessary to resort to chemicals.
Mix 3 grams of baking soda with 2 grams of lemon juice and 10 ml of hot or warm water. Pour into the toilet and use a toilet brush to clean the inside of the toilet. Finally, flush the toilet. This method is also useful for unclogging the toilet.
5. Cleaning the toilet brush
It is essential to clean this bathroom accessory, as it is constantly exposed not only to dirt, but also to bacteria and microbes that can be harmful to our health.
Pour some boiling water into the toilet brush container, then add small amounts of baking soda, detergent, vinegar, and salt. Soak the toilet brush in the solution for 5 minutes, then flush it down the toilet.
6. Remove rust
In the bathroom there are many metal objects and accessories that, due to the constant humidity of the room, are exposed to the formation of rust.
Mix salt and lemon juice and use a toothbrush to clean all metal surfaces. Finally, wipe with a clean microfiber cloth to remove any residue.
7. Keep the ceiling clean
Surely you have never thought of cleaning the ceiling of the bathroom, yet most of the moisture produced in the bathroom is deposited on it and a very annoying mold forms very often.
Use a combination of salt and baking soda to clean the ceiling at least 3 to 4 times a year.
