The anthurium is one of the most popular plants for women, it is a beautiful and super colorful traditional flower that, for all these reasons, cannot be missing in any home, also because it is given as a gift as a good omen.

Taking care of this plant is very simple, in fact it can be an idea to give it to those who don’t have a green thumb or too much time to devote to flowers and plants.

To ensure that the seedling lives well and survives over the months or years, simply place it only in a lit position, avoiding direct exposure to the sun, with a temperature between 20 and 22 degrees. The minimum temperature beyond which it should never go is 16 degrees.

The anthurium should be kept away from drafts and should absolutely not be placed near the radiator because in this way it could also dry out.

How to care for the anthurium quickly and easily

To properly maintain the anthurium, water should be given as needed, without excess. So in winter it is enough to water the plant once a week, while in summer twice a week without exaggerating with the quantity, always checking that this is the case.

You don’t need to give a lot of water, but just spray the plant to refresh it and that’s it. The anthurium grown on site must have a permeable soil, which allows the roots to always remain moist and to take in the air while benefiting from good drainage.

So of course nutrients are important, which should never be lacking in this plant as in any other plant. It is therefore advisable to buy a special soil for Anthuriums to add to the normal soil or alternatively the soil for orchids may also be suitable.

When is it time to water the plant and when is it best to avoid

In early spring, a repotting can be done that stimulates the production of new buds, this method allows you to give life to many new seedlings, if you also want to give them as gifts. If the leaves suddenly change color, for example by appearing darkened, it may be due to the plant receiving either too little water or too much water.

It is therefore advisable to touch the soil substrate before watering and to water only if it is dry. If, on the other hand, it is humid, it is advisable to wait. If the leaves turn yellow instead, it may mean that the plant is probably having too much light, so it’s best to move it to a more distant position in order to protect it.

Yellowing of flowers and leaves: the solution

Yellowed leaves or faded flowers should be removed to promote the formation of new flowers. This way, the seedling becomes lush without the need to do anything extra. When the plant is now full of dry leaves, it’s time to act directly on it to bring it back to life.

Once finished, the anthurium root is soaked and left in water for a few hours. Then the root is put back in the pot with the soil, it must be well buried, it is watered with water with garlic. Garlic should be put on the ground. Once this is done, you will only have to wait a month to see the first results.

In the end, the results will be exceptional, because not only will the anthurium put back its spectacular leaves and flowers, but by pulling the root out of the soil, you will realize that many more roots will be born to plant in other pots to give life to many small anthuriums ready to brighten up your home or garden.
