I don’t water my houseplants anymore and they are thriving like never before: the florist taught me this genius trick!

How to make a DIY watering gel

You will need:

  • 250 ml of water
  • 1 g of agar powder (or 2 gelatine sheets)
  • A saucepan
  • A larger container
  • A ladle
    Procedure:
  1. Pour the water into the saucepan and add the agar-agar (or gelatine sheets).
  2. Stir with a wooden spoon.
  3. Place the saucepan on the stove, bring to the boil and let it boil for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Continue stirring until the mixture is ready, then pour it into the larger container.
Freeze everything for at least 1 hour.
    Result:** DIY watering gel!
Once solidified, use the watering gel by placing it on top of the soil of the plants. As the gel dries, it will gradually release water, keeping the soil moist without over-wetting.

This gel is biodegradable, eco-friendly and can last up to 20/25 days, perfect for keeping your plants hydrated even during the holidays.
