Mealybugs are among the most common insects, but also the most harmful. They can invade our plants and weaken them, or even cause them to rot. If you have noticed the presence of mealybugs on your plants, you should know that it is possible to eliminate them with all-natural pesticides.

By inserting their beaks into plants, mealybugs suck the sap, weakening or causing them to die, depending on the species of the plant and the amount of mealybugs.

As if that wasn’t enough, mealybugs secrete a kind of molasses which, in turn, promotes the appearance of a black mold that causes the leaves to dry out and fall off.

5 natural pesticides against mealybugs

It is an excellent natural insecticide, and can permanently eliminate mealybugs. Mix one liter of water with the contents of 6 cigarettes and let it sit for 24 hours.

Finally, drain the solution and spray on the plants. Alternatively, you can also run a cotton ball soaked in the solution directly over the leaves.

Sodium bicarbonate

Mix one tablespoon of baking soda with a liter of water and two tablespoons of grated Marseille soap.

Pour everything into a spray bottle and spray directly onto the plants every 7 days for at least 4 months.

Garlic alcohol

Mix 6 cloves of garlic with half a litre of alcohol and half a litre of water.

Strain the mixture to a very liquid solution, then spray on the plants and soil.

Garlic and laundry detergent

Grind 150 grams of garlic and mix them with 1 liter of water. Add 2 tablespoons of liquid laundry detergent and continue to stir.

I pour into a spray bottle and apply it directly to the plants.

“Express” repellent

Mix a litre of warm water with half a teaspoon of washing-up liquid and 1 tablespoon of alcohol.
