Good watering is essential for healthy growth, as the right amount of water helps plants develop optimally at each stage of their growth. Too much water can damage the roots, stems, and leaves, while too little water can cause them to dry out quickly. This clever technique will allow you to water your plants without wasting water and without the need for constant manual watering.

How to Use Bottles as Real Water Reservoirs

With this technique, you won’t have to water potted plants or those in the ground, including your vegetable garden, manually for days. You can go on vacation or be away for the weekend without having to ask friends or neighbors to water your plants.

1. Get Plastic Bottles of Two Different Sizes
   Get bottles of different sizes, such as 0.5-liter and 1.5-liter bottles, or 1.5-liter bottles and 3-liter jerrycans, and so on. The larger the bottle, the longer the water will last.
2. Cut the Smaller Bottle
   Take the smaller plastic bottle and cut it roughly in half, as shown in the photo. Dig a hole to bury it and fill it with water.
3. Prepare the Larger Bottle
   Now, take the larger plastic bottle and cut it in half as well.
4. Place the Larger Bottle Inverted Over the Smaller One
   Place the top half of the larger bottle upside down over the smaller one, creating a “lid” (see photo).

How it Works:

This simple irrigation system is now complete and will work automatically: the more sunlight there is, the more the plants will be watered.
