1) Extract the core

First of all, you should choose a good avocado, neither too soft nor too hard and without dark marks.

Next,  carefully cut the avocado and be careful not to let the knife touch the pit. It must not be damaged. It will even be necessary to gently clean it with clean water to remove residue from the pulpit and above all to avoid damaging it.

2) Prepare the core

The core should be soaked for 30 minutes in hot water (35-40°C). Then the core must be dried in the sun or in a dry and ventilated place for 2-3 days, so that all traces of moisture disappear. After that, take the core and plant 3 or 4 chopsticks without pushing them too much. If you don’t have chopsticks, you can use matches. Then, put the core in a glass full of water, taking care that the rounded part is in the open air and the flat part in the water ; It should not touch the sides of the glass. When the water in the glass becomes cloudy, it must be emptied and renewed.

3) Plant the core

After two to three weeks, you will see small growth and 1 to 2 cm roots. Now is the perfect time to plant it in a pot filled with potting soil. Keep the toothpicks in the core (to avoid damaging it), plant it, root it in the soil and leave the top of the core in the open air. Don’t forget to water the soil regularly : the soil must be moist until the first sprouts appear. After two weeks you should see the first leaves.

4) Expand the bush

When your avocado tree is about 30 cm high and has enough leaves to encourage the development of new stems at the base of the tree avocado tree, you can cut the top of the stem above the sixth leaf starting from the base. But be careful, it doesn’t work all the time and the avocado tree continues to grow. Likewise, you can sprout new seeds and add them to the pot. But you will need a larger pot.

5) Replant the avocado tree

Before transplanting the avocado tree, put a layer of clay balls in the bottom of the pot and then put soil mixed with compost.
