- Mint Syrup:
- Pick fresh mint leaves.
- Wash them and mix them with equal parts water and sugar in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil until the sugar dissolves and the leaves infuse the flavor.
- Once cooled, strain the syrup and use it to sweeten drinks, desserts or ice cream.
- Mint Leaves with Chocolate:
- Choose young and tender mint leaves.
- Melt dark or white chocolate.
- Dip each leaf in chocolate and place on parchment paper to solidify.
- Basil and Mint Pesto:
- Mix mint leaves with basil, pine nuts, garlic, parmesan and olive oil in a food processor.
- Blend until smooth and use as a topping for pasta or sandwiches.
- Coriander Mint Chutney:
- Mix mint leaves, coriander, green chilies, ginger, garlic, lemon juice and salt.
- Adjust the ingredients to your taste and use as a garnish.
- Mint Sauce:
- Finely chop mint leaves and mix with sugar, vinegar and salt.
- Serve as a side dish for roast lamb or other meats.
- Fresh Mint Ice Cream:
- Infuse cream with fresh mint leaves to make an ice cream base.
- Serve as a dessert or pair with chocolate cake.
- Mint in Homemade Products:
- Infuse mint leaves with oils to use in homemade salves or soaps.
- Mint in Yogurt:
- Finely chop fresh mint leaves and mix with plain or flavoured yogurt.
- Enjoy on its own, with fresh fruit or as a dip for raw vegetables.
