On the balcony, backyard or simply on the terrace, we can grow homemade vegetables whenever we want.

Today I offer you a non-exhaustive list of 10 common or original vegetables that you can grow during the summer season, some will only grow during the summer. They may seem difficult to grow, but that’s also what makes your grow interesting.

1) Peppers:

Fresh chiles are one of my favorite summer garden vegetables. Chili peppers take up very little space and can produce very high yields when planted together.
Plant as many varieties of peppers as possible and there will be something for everyone. There are very small, large, very hot, very mild peppers and a whole range of different colors and shapes. Start your pepper plants with the seeds indoors for best results during the summer.

2) Beans:

Start planting beans as soon as the soil and air have warmed. Try to carry out continuous sowing of 7 to 10 days with different varieties. This will give you continuous harvests of beans and not a single large crop with possible waste due to too much.

3) Tomatoes:

The most popular vegetable in the garden, the tomato is a true classic and is unbeatable. Growing tomatoes is not only fun, but it will allow you to produce and taste some of the best fruits in the world. Grow a few varieties each year to find your favorite tomatoes. You can germinate your own tomato seeds indoors or you can also buy tomato plants from the nursery starting in May.

4) Zucchini

We can use zucchini in many recipes, such as summer salads, or cook them in a variety of ways, including zucchini “fries” and classics like zucchini bread.

5) Corn:

One of the most rewarding and fastest crops to grow. Corn is delicious when cooked just a few minutes after removing it from the stem.
Try growing a small plot of corn, making your way into a vast field of multiple varieties.

6) Cucumbers :

Cucumbers are fast-growing plants and can therefore produce abundant fruit in the summer. Be careful about choosing a variety according to the space you have in your garden because plants can quickly invade everything.

7) Melon or bitter cucumber:
More original than its cousin the cucumber, the bitter melon will only grow in summer and give you new taste sensations.

8) Cauliflowers:
Very good for health, cauliflower is also an essential ally on hot summer days, to eat raw for greater freshness.

8) Leeks: The
essential leek from the garden that goes so well with quiches.

10) Okra:
Okra or okra is a vegetable that the people of Réunion and Guyanese know very well but is much less known by the inhabitants of metropolitan France because it requires a lot of heat, but summer can allow a small production, try it urgently.

A summer garden can provide an abundance of fresh and delicious vegetables for the whole family to enjoy.
