The active ingredient in aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid. <\/strong>Studies conducted by the United States Department of Agriculture showed that plants treated with this drug had an enhanced immune response<\/strong>. This means that the plants were better protected against attack by insects or other types of diseases. Other researchers found that orchards sprayed with an aspirin mixture grew faster than<\/strong> the control group (without aspirin).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ve only talked about a few reasons why you should use aspirin in your garden, but let’s look at them all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Improve root and shoot development<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Salicylic acid\u00a0promotes<\/strong>\u00a0the rooting of plants. One\u00a0study<\/strong>, for example, has shown how this substance\u00a0increases the spread of soybean roots and sprouts.\u00a0<\/strong>Dissolve an aspirin tablet in a cup of water and soak the cut in the solution for a few hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Improve germination<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Aspirin can improve germination. <\/strong>A low dose of aspirin (1 tablet dissolved in 5 liters of water) can greatly improve the germination of seeds of both flowers and horticultural plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Treat plants affected by fungi<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Aspirin can cure plant fungi attacked by the soil. <\/strong>Spray your plants with a mixture of water and aspirin to prevent fungal diseases. In addition, the same solution can help treat plant blight<\/strong>. You only need to spray this solution on your plants at the first sign of blight for it to be effective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
