    Geraniums are  easy to propagate from cuttings<\/strong>  and that is what we want to show you below, step by step. To reproduce our geraniums infinitely we need the following material:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • a mature geranium<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • small plastic pots<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • seedling substrate<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • sand<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • knife or scissors<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • rooting hormone (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

      1. First, we select the healthiest, firmest and thickest stems and  cut them above the second axil counting from the top. <\/strong> That is, just above where the leaves sprout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      2.  Remove the leaves and shoots from the lower half of the cutting<\/strong>  . Finally, cut the lower end of the stem just below a node. This is where there is a higher concentration of the plant’s natural rooting hormones.<\/p>\n\n\n

      3. To improve the success rate, dip the base of each cutting in a small amount of rooting hormone to  stimulate root growth.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

      4. Fill the pots with a  mixture of seedling substrate and sand<\/strong>  . This will improve drainage. Place 2-3 cuttings in each pot. Water well and place the pots with cuttings in a  well-lit place inside the house. <\/strong> It is best not to cover the cuttings with plastic to prevent mold growth.<\/p>\n\n\n

      5. After a few weeks the wound will be healed and  we will start to see the first roots<\/strong>  . After 6-8 weeks, the cutting should already have a well-established root system.<\/p>\n\n\n

      6. We can now  transplant each cutting into a single pot<\/strong>  with normal substrate. We will keep them with a good degree of humidity and then in the next few weeks we will be able to  plant the geranium wherever we want.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
