Pothos<\/strong> , known by its scientific name as  Epipremnum aureum<\/em>  is one of  the most popular and easy to care for houseplants<\/strong> . If you are new to the world of plants, or simply do not have much time to take care of them, pothos are the option you need at home because they do not need much care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HOW IS POTHOS WATERED?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It depends on many factors<\/strong>  such as light, time of year or currents. A \u201c correct weekly watering\u201d<\/strong>  is sufficient. This is because pothos \u201cis a plant that  does not need constant humidity in the soil,<\/strong>  since  it is capable of capturing humidity from the environment<\/strong>  with its characteristic aerial roots.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It can be  transplanted once a year, and is best done in the spring.<\/strong>  It can be done even when the plant is dry or has excess moisture. In that case, you can try to revive the potho by transplanting it with a new substrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHAT TO DO WHEN A POTHOS IS DYING?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

No matter how hardy the plants are, it sometimes happens that even the strongest ones can experience wilting. To  try to revive a potho<\/strong> we give you some tips:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Remove wilted leaves.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Always disinfect pruning tools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Transplant the plant to a new pot with a better substrate and make sure there are no pests on the plant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Put the potho in a lighted area with little water.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    When  pothos leaves dry out,<\/strong>  the plant is most likely in poor condition. The same thing happens when there is excess humidity. In this case the pothos begins to turn  yellow in the leaves<\/strong> . \u201cIf at any time we leave the plant’s soil with a plate of water so that it does not dry completely, it is very likely that  this excess moisture could cause problems<\/strong>  for our plant. It is better to water abundantly, placing, if necessary, the entire pot in a bucket of water so that its interior is well moistened, but immediately after that , it is better <\/strong> to remove it from the water so that the soil dries gradually.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Another of the main reasons why potho acquires a yellow hue on the leaves is due to the  \u201clack of nutrients in the soil.\u201d <\/strong> The pothos feeds on the salts and minerals it finds in the substrate. However, after a few months, that soil is exhausted, so we must change it and  add a little fertilizer for natural plants<\/strong> , preferably liquid, to the irrigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
