However, yellow leaves can also be a sign of many problems. If your orchid has now withered, there is a remedy to recover the plant and it consists of the use of an ingredient that you would never have thought of!

Hydrogen peroxide for orchids is in fact used as a means of treating and preventing plant diseases . Watering with such a solution provides the leaves and roots with complete oxygen saturation, which ordinary water cannot do.

How to care for and grow orchids with this ingredient!

Before we look at how to recover a wilted orchid, here are the benefits that hydrogen peroxide has on plants and when used. Watering orchids with hydrogen peroxide is useful because:

kill pests and cure the plant,

fertilize the substrate,

accelerates flower growth,

acts as a fungicide,

saturates the soil with oxygen,

Strengthens small roots.

For houseplants, peroxide is used as a means of combating diseases or pests.

Moisten the seeds with hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is used already at the first stage, the stage of processing orchid seeds before planting. It saturates the seeds with oxygen, strengthening them and stimulating their growth. The use of the product has a beneficial effect on the flower.

To soak the seeds you will need:

3% hydrogen peroxide – 25 drops,

water – 250 ml.

The seeds are soaked in the resulting solution, after 30 minutes they are extracted and washed with water.

Water the flowers with hydrogen peroxide

Normally the water used is tap water, plants love and need natural irrigation, provided by rainwater or by the same peroxide solution that contains the entire set of trace elements necessary for their correct development and growth.

Before use, the product must be diluted with water so as not to damage the sensitive leaves of the orchid. For this, 2 tablespoons are mixed with 1 liter of water. This solution is sprayed throughout the year, but no more than once a week. Peroxide stimulates the growth of orchids. It is desirable to spray and water the flowers in a well-ventilated area.

If your orchid has withered, here is the method to revive it!

If your orchid has wilted, remove the yellowed leaves with the help of sterilized scissors and remove all dry parts of the plant. Remove the plant from the pot and transfer it to a glass and fill with water below the collar (aside from where the roots and leaves form).

Try not to wet the collar, otherwise you risk rotting the entire plant (usually 3-4 cm of water will be enough). Now remove the plant from the glass and add 1 cm of hydrogen peroxide to the water, stir and transfer the plant piece again .

The liquid level should never exceed the collar. Now we just have to wait. It will usually take at least a month and a half before you see the first results. This remedy will have worked when you see that the parts of the roots that were previously yellow have turned green and new ones will also grow. At this point, you can restore your orchid in a sterilized jar.

Fill about 2/3 of the pot with bark pieces, transfer the plant and fill it under the collar with the bark. Then spray the bark until the water runs out and place it in another decorative vase or on an ad hoc base.

Hydrogen peroxide provides the orchid with all the necessary trace elements. When using it, no additional fertilizers are needed. Oxygen, which is part of hydrogen peroxide, has a detrimental effect on germs, spores and pests that protect flowers. Oxygen also saturates the soil, causing rapid flower growth.

All healthy orchids experience yellowing of the lower leaves when old foliage dies.
