Cucumbers eaten fresh are known as sliced varieties and pickled cucumbers are known as pickled varieties.

Cucumbers contain nutrients that are particularly beneficial for our skin, hair and nails.

Dig a good amount of organic compost into the soil. The soil must be turned to a peak depth.

You can start your seedlings indoors by planting in biodegradable seedling pots that ensure that the roots are not damaged when you plant the seedlings. Above all, do not plant before the last frost.

Leave a space of about 40 cm between the plants. You can make groups of 3 seeds in each hole to increase the chances of germination success. The seeds should be planted 2.5 cm deep.

If you are planting more than one row, the rows should be about 90cm apart.

Cucumber needs a good amount of sun and heat. The plant is a greenhouse favorite. Make sure you have enough space, cucumbers can grow quickly to almost 6 feet. When space is limited, place the plant against a wall or post. They can also be spread out on the floor if you have the space.

The type of soil

Well-drained soil is important for cucumbers, so they are often planted in raised beds about 15 cm high. Cucumbers will thrive in sandy soil. Make sure the soil has a good amount of organic matter, the manure will give them the nutrients they need.

Remove weeds regularly, but be careful not to go below a few centimeters with the hoe because you could damage the root system, slowing plant growth.

Water your cucumbers weekly if you want them to be juicy and firm! The cucumber fruit itself has a very high water content.

The plant has male and female flowers and the female flowers give rise to cucumbers. You can help with pollination and increase fruit count by using a cotton swab to transfer pollen from the male flowers to the center of the female flowers. The female flowers are distinguished from the male flowers, the female ones have a small cucumber at their base.

Harvest

You can harvest cucumbers when they are a suitable size, which is usually 50 to 60 days after planting. The skin should be dark green, do not wait until the cucumbers have turned yellow, as this indicates that they are overripe and their flavor quality is decreasing.

Turn the cucumbers on the plant or cut them at the stem just above the tip of the cucumber.

Cucumbers are easy to grow and cultivate, as they are climbing plants.
