The best solution to obtain beautiful and healthy plants , however, is not necessarily industrial and chemical fertilizers , on the contrary. While they can be effective for plant growth , these products often have negative repercussions on the environment and our health . However, to grow up to twice as many flowers in your garden, you need a natural organic fertilizer . To make it, all you need is some uncooked white rice . Let’s see how to do it.

White rice – a powerful fertilizer

In addition to being a nutritious food , white rice can be used as a natural fertilizer for plants , with excellent results . This food, in fact, is rich in starch , carbohydrates and B complex vitamins , which make it a source of nutrients for plants. But that’s not all: it contains minerals such as nitrogen, phosphorus, magnesium and potassium , substances that are ideal for promoting the growth and flowering of plants.

Organic fertilizer with white rice: how to do it

Preparing natural fertilizer based on raw white rice is really very simple . As for the rice to use, we can easily use the common white rice that we have available at home. However, if possible, it is advisable to use untreated white rice , that is, without the addition of additives and preservatives .

To prepare our fertilizer we will need 100g of white rice . Once obtained, we must soak it in water. To do this, we put the rice in a jar or other container and add 1 liter of water . Mix carefully and let it rest for about 24 hours . This will allow the rice to release all of its nutrients into the water, which in turn will transfer them to the plants .

After 24 hours , the rice should be soft . We mix one last time and then filter everything with a strainer . Although we will mainly use the liquid obtained as fertilizer , this does not mean that the rice that remains inside the sieve is useless, on the contrary. In fact, we can use it as a natural organic fertilizer , applying it to the soil where our plants are located in order to create a nutritious substrate , which will make them grow healthier and stronger. . In addition, the addition of the solid part of the rice will enhance the beneficial effect of the natural liquid fertilizer that we will apply later.

After this brief interlude , the liquid part of our natural fertilizer is ready to use: before using it, however, it is recommended to dilute it in water , in the proportion of approximately 1 cup of fertilizer per 10 liters of water . After diluting it , we can apply the fertilizer to the soil around the plants or to the leaves , depending on the needs of the individual plants.

It is recommended to use this natural fertilizer based on white rice every two weeks, to obtain strong plants and abundant flowers .
