{"id":31,"date":"2023-11-03T18:03:33","date_gmt":"2023-11-03T16:03:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.recipes-eng.top\/?p=31"},"modified":"2023-11-03T18:03:33","modified_gmt":"2023-11-03T16:03:33","slug":"how-to-grow-propagate-and-bloom-a-christmas-cactus-all-year-round","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.recipes-eng.top\/?p=31","title":{"rendered":"How to grow, propagate and bloom a Christmas cactus all year round"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If there is a typical plant for the coldest time of the year, it is undoubtedly the&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Christmas cactus<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;or&nbsp;&nbsp;<em><strong>school umbergera<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp;.&nbsp;Although it blooms at Christmas time, it is important to take good care of this plant so that it gives us lots of flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this article we propose the main&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>remedies for the Christmas cactus<\/strong>&nbsp;and explain how to propagate it to obtain many other plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Christmas cactus<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;is a relatively easy plant to care for.&nbsp;In a bright place, away from direct sunlight that could burn the leaves, and at a temperature between 18 and 24\u00b0C, the plant should grow healthy and vigorous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under no circumstances should the plant be moved during flowering as this could cause the buds to fall off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Propagate a Christmas cactus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Propagating this plant is as easy as it is practical.&nbsp;In the spring, take the parts of the stem that have two or three leaf sections and let them dry for a day or two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Place the extracted pieces in a mixture of seed soil and fine sand.&nbsp;Insert the bottom of the pieces about 1cm deep so they can stand up.&nbsp;Water well and make sure excess water drains away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Place the cuttings in a bright location but protected from direct sunlight.&nbsp;Water sparingly and spray water on the leaves regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After 1 to 2 months the first roots will have formed; you can check this by moving the cutting slightly.&nbsp;If they have roots, pot them individually to allow them to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Christmas cactus care<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Christmas cactus suffers when the ground is too cold and wet.&nbsp;Water sparingly in winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is important to repot the Christmas cactus every 1-2 years, preferably in the spring and immediately after it ends its dormant period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Transplant the Christmas cactus into a larger pot and use a cactus fertilizer to encourage its growth and blooming.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If there is a typical plant for the coldest time of the year, it is undoubtedly the&nbsp;&nbsp;Christmas cactus&nbsp;&nbsp;or&nbsp;&nbsp;school umbergera&nbsp;&nbsp;.&nbsp;Although it blooms at Christmas time, it is important to take good [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":32,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-31","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-advice"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
