Although it sounds exaggerated, with a good combination of natural nutrients, hygiene and controlled humidity, it is possible to achieve fast and strong rooting in rose cuttings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead of relying only on commercial hormones, you can use ingredients you already have in the kitchen, such as rice, carrots, garlic, and toilet paper, to create a perfect environment where branches develop many roots and grow into new plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here&#8217;s how to do it step by step:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Materials Needed<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Healthy rose bush branches (moderately mature, about 15 cm).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5 tablespoons of uncooked rice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 fresh carrot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 cloves of garlic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>600 ml of clean water (approx. 2 glasses of 300 ml).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Soft toilet paper or paper towels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u20133 clean plastic cups or containers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 paper cup or cup (disposable type).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 clear plastic cup or lid to cover (or plastic bag).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clean knife and a small spoon or toothpick to make holes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Optional: small potato instead of carrot for those who want to try another version of the technique.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step by step of the rooting technique<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Choose and prepare the rose branches<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Choose a <strong>rose bush branch that you like a lot<\/strong>, from a healthy plant and that blooms well.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It should be a stem <strong>that is neither too tender nor too woody<\/strong>: firm to the touch, but still somewhat green.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cut pieces about <strong>15 cm long<\/strong>, with at least 3\u20134 yolks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove all leaves and flowers: this reduces water loss and energy is focused on forming roots.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If desired, go over the bottom cut <strong>diagonally<\/strong>, to increase the rooting surface.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Prepare the rice water &#8220;tonic&#8221;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Place <strong>5 tablespoons of uncooked rice<\/strong> in a clean plastic cup.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add <strong>300 ml of clean water<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mix well for 1\u20132 minutes, until the water is whitish.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rice water releases <strong>B vitamins, minerals, and starches<\/strong>, which function as a source of energy for stem cells.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dip the bottom of the cuttings in this water and let them <strong>soak for about 30 minutes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Prepare the carrot and garlic mixture<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Peel a <strong>fresh carrot<\/strong> (previously washed).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reserve a thick slice of about <strong>3 cm<\/strong> (you will use it later as a support).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take the rest of the carrot, cut off the peel and small pieces of pulp and place them in another clean glass.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Peel <strong>4 cloves of garlic<\/strong>, chop or cut them into thin slices and add them to the glass with carrots.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add <strong>300 ml of clean water<\/strong> and mix well.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Let it sit <strong>for 15\u201320 minutes<\/strong> to allow the water to absorb the nutrients from the carrot and the antibacterial substances from the garlic.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carrots provide <strong>beta-carotene and antioxidants<\/strong>, while garlic acts as a <strong>natural disinfectant<\/strong>, helping to prevent fungi and bacteria that could rot the stem.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Filter and combine solutions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After the soaking time, remove the branches from the glass with rice water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Filter the rice water and also the carrot and garlic mixture, using a fine sieve or a piece of clean cloth, to be left with only the liquid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In a clean container, <strong>mix both solutions<\/strong>: you now have a single &#8220;cup&#8221; full of nutrients, energy, and natural protection against bacteria.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Prepare the glass with damp paper<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Take a paper cup and place several layers of <strong>soft toilet paper<\/strong> or paper towels, slightly crumpled, inside.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pour in the liquid mixture little by little until the paper is <strong>well moistened, but not dripping<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The paper will act like a sponge, keeping the moisture constant next to the base of the branch.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Use the carrot as a cutting support<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>With the reserved carrot slice (3 cm thick), make a <strong>central hole<\/strong> with the help of a toothpick or knife, just the size of the stem of the rose.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Insert the bottom of the branch into that hole: the carrot will give it stability and at the same time slowly release nutrients.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place this slice with the branch inside the paper cup, on the wet paper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press gently so that it is firm and the base is in contact with the soaked paper.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. Create a mini greenhouse<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Take a clear plastic cup, cut bottle, or plastic bag and <strong>cover the top<\/strong> of the paper cup.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The idea is to form a <strong>small greenhouse<\/strong> that keeps the humidity and temperature more stable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure to leave a <strong>small air intake<\/strong> (a small hole or an edge that is not completely closed) to avoid excess condensation and fungus.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8. Choose the right place and wait<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Place the set in a <strong>bright place but without direct sun<\/strong>: a table near a window, a covered balcony or a corner of the protected patio.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid areas with strong drafts or excessive heat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check every 2\u20133 days that the paper is still wet; If it&#8217;s too dry, add a little more of the solution or clean water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Between <strong>7 and 10 days<\/strong>, in favorable conditions, you will begin to notice:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Green and plump shoots on the buds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thick white roots coming out at the base, around the carrot and paper.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">9.
