The most common method for reproducing hydrangeas is by cutting<\/strong> , as it allows faster reproduction <\/strong> and, in this way, we are sure that the new plant will have the same characteristics as the mother. The cutting technique<\/strong> is a quick and easy way to reproduce new plants. A small branch or stem is cut from a mother plant to plant it and give rise to a new seedling, genetically identical to the parent and, therefore, with the same characteristics. Then follow these steps to reproduce hydrangeas from cuttings<\/strong> :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The first thing you should do is cut a branch,<\/strong> of course. Be sure to disinfect your pruning shears<\/strong> , you can also use a sharp and disinfected knife. It is very important that the cut is made diagonally<\/strong> , and that it is as clean as possible, to facilitate wound healing without being attacked by parasites. or diseases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. To multiply hydrangeas by cuttings, it is enough to cut a stem of at least 10 cm<\/strong> , with at least three nodes and new shoots. If the stem is very long, several cuttings can be obtained from one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Subsequently, all the leaves are removed from the last node of the cutting,<\/strong> cutting them at the base of the node and leaving only half of the remaining ones . Thanks to this  cleaning of the leaves<\/strong> , we minimize dehydration of the new plant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

The ideal is to use a mixture of : <\/strong>peat, worm castings and coconut fiber in equal parts, along with vermiculite and perlite <\/strong> . Adding perlite and vermiculite to a plant mixture of acidic soil mixed with sand also gives good results.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Once the pot or seedbed has been prepared with the new substrate, make a hole with a stick and you can proceed to plant the cuttings<\/strong> , introducing them in the compound about 2 cm. You can help yourself with some growth hormone<\/strong> or homemade organic rooting to increase the chances of a successful cut.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7.
