This exceptional plant is relatively easy to care for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although caring for the Lopatkovec is simple, it is important to know its needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follow the recommendations of the YouTube channel Great Gardening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lopatkovec, or Spathiphyllum, is a tropical plant with long, sword-shaped leaves that thrives in the forests of Central and South America, where it benefits from diffused sunlight and constant humidity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To keep your plant healthy, it is essential to create similar conditions in your home as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did you know that Lopatkovec can also be grown in water? Follow these steps and you will see that it will become a beautiful ornament for a glass vase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Procedure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Remove the plant from the pot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Divide into several connected stems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Remove dry and damaged leaves.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Using scissors, level the roots to the level of the stems.
    Place the plants on their sides.
    Thoroughly wash the ends of the stems with clean water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After washing the stems, tie them together with a rubber band.
    Place a piece of steel wire under the rubber band.
    Insert into the glass bowl with water so that the wire touches the edge and the stems are immersed in the water (see video).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After thirty days, the plant will develop roots.
    The plant will begin to flower.
    Then dig up the plant, remove the wire and rubber band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Using scissors, remove the old, dark roots.
    Place stones in a glass container.
    Then gently place the plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Pour water into the container above root level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Plants can be used as decoration in the home or to liven up the office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Basic Care of Lopatkovec
    Lopatkovec is one of the best houseplants for purifying the air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    These plants, thanks to their green leaves, absorb polluted air and free it from toxic gases such as carbon monoxide, benzene and formaldehyde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Ideal Location
    Spathiphyllum is a versatile and hardy houseplant that will fit perfectly into your home if you choose the right location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    However, if placed in the wrong location, it may develop pale, unhealthy leaves, fungal or bacterial diseases, and may not flower at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In fact, there are many places in our homes where we could place this beautiful plant, but before doing so, we must consider some factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Correct lighting
    It is best to place the Lopatkovec in a place illuminated by natural, but not direct, light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A north-facing window would be ideal, as the plant will be exposed to morning sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Avoid placing them in places exposed to direct sunlight all day, as they may dry out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Growing Hazards
    Keep them away from children, as they are curious and do not know what is good or bad for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It is therefore not surprising that they try to touch your plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    However, it contains calcium oxalate, which may cause skin irritation, breathing problems, nausea, or diarrhea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Keep the plant out of reach of pets, as Lopatkovec is one of the houseplants toxic to pets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Therefore, it should be kept away from places frequented by your four-legged friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Its white flowers contain toxic pollen that could cause mouth irritation if it gets on your pet’s fur or if your pet licks it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Providing the right conditions for your plant will allow it to grow healthy and delight you with its delicate beauty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
