Here is the procedure.

Beetroot is a versatile and healthy vegetable, as well as tasty. However, many don’t know that they can be used to create a natural fertilizer at no cost to revitalize plants and ensure better blooms. Natural beetroot-based fertilizer is very simple to make and can be used on any type of plant, from roses to cacti. Just one cup of this fertilizer will literally make the garden explode with flowers.. So let’s see how to proceed to create a homemade natural fertilizer using beetroot.

Why a natural fertilizer for flowers and plants

First, some may wonder what the advantage is of using a natural fertilizer instead of one of the powerful commercially available chemical fertilizers. The reasons are many. First, some chemical fertilizers can fetch sky-high prices and be downright expensive.

In addition, due to the chemicals they contain, these fertilizers can have a negative impact on the health of the environment. And again because of the man-made substances that make up these products, many families who grow fruits and vegetables for family consumption prefer to use natural fertilizers to treat the plants, which pose no potential health risks.

Use beetroot as fertilizer

And here we come to our natural beetroot-based fertilizer . Why is it recommended to use this vegetable ? First of all, beets are an excellent natural fertilizer because they are rich in minerals and nutrients that plants need, such as potassium, phosphorus, and calcium.

In addition, the decomposition of beets helps to improve the structure of the soil that houses the plants, favoring the growth of roots and preventing the phenomenon of soil compaction.

Create our own natural fertilizer for the flowers and plants in the garden

So how can you proceed to create a natural beetroot-based fertilizer ? First of all, the first phase to take care of carefully is the purchase of beetroot to use. In fact, if you don’t already grow them yourself, it’s advisable to buy fresh, organic beets that aren’t grown with the use of pesticides or other chemicals.

Once we have chosen our beets, we can clean them. Then we proceed to remove the leaves and the top of our vegetables. After that, we rinse them under running water to remove any residue and soil residue.

At this point, we cut the beetroot into large pieces and put them in a blender. Add a liter of water and mix everything for about two minutes. In the end, we should have obtained a liquid compound with a bright fuchsia color .

Now we have to filter our compound by dividing the solid waste from the liquids, and we do it with the help of a strainer. Then pour the juice obtained into a jug by passing it through the sieve. We will thus obtain the beetroot juice inside the jug, and the solid parts that remain inside the strainer. However, we do not throw them away, because they can be useful as solid fertilizer for the soil.

At this point, in fact, we can combine the solid waste from the beet with the soil substrate. This operation will have a revitalizing effect on the plants. As for the liquid, however, we can pour it over the plants as if we were watering them . Speaking of quantities, in general it is recommended to use about one cup of beetroot puree for every 10 liters of soil.

We repeat the process once every 30 days, which can be once every two weeks during the growing season, and we will get lush plants with beautiful flowers and healthy roots.

With this natural fertilizer you will have lush plants and beautiful flowers in the garden practically at no cost.
