Orchids are plants that require a lot of attention and if you&#8217;re not careful you may find the plant dead when you return from your vacation. All plants in general require minimal and regular care to ensure that they do not dry out and die.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, orchids are very particular, have tropical origins and are famous for their colorful flowers. They were initially considered elite plants. In fact, they needed a particular climate, certain temperatures, and humidity. Today, however, there are more varieties of the orchid and some that are also adapted to the conditions of European life. Here is what you should do before you leave, some tips:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Water it from below<\/strong>: make sure before you go out to water it well so as not to make it suffer. In order for them to absorb as much water as possible, it is necessary to proceed by immersion. And simply put the orchid in a bowl of water for at least half an hour. During this time, the plant will absorb water through the holes in the pot, remaining moist for longer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Make more use of light<\/strong>: in general, the orchid is a plant that needs partial shade and not be exposed to direct sunlight. A few days before leaving, however, it is better to leave it in the sun for a few hours, always indirectly (to avoid the risk of burning it) to &#8216;recharge&#8217; it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"attachment_518425\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/donna.nanopress.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/orchidee-donna.nanopress.it_.jpg\" alt=\"Orchids\" class=\"wp-image-518425\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Don&#8217;t leave it in the\u00a0<\/strong><strong>dark<\/strong>: Orchids are houseplants but they need light. Never leave them without power for a few days because you will find them dead. Be careful not to close all the blinds in the house before going on vacation, at least in the room where the orchids are, do not completely lower the blinds to let in the light that will help not to interrupt the photosynthesis process of the plant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Give it an energy boost<\/strong>: A little extra energy will keep it alive during your absence. The day before you leave, fertilize it with a fertilizer. It is better to use one based on potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen.
